Richard grew up in a small town in country Victoria. Richard completed his schooling at Ivanhoe Grammar and went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Latrobe University in Bundoora. Throughout his working life, in various Accounting and Systems Accounting roles, he assisted small family companies, not-for-profit entities, right up to large multi-national groups improve the efficiency of their accounting and related IT systems. This included support of REA Group Ltd’s (realestate.com.au) worldwide accounting system. He has always had a keen interest in Real Estate and has purchased and sold properties throughout Australia.

Richard’s interest in Real Estate and a desire to ‘get out from behind a desk’ led him to complete his Real Estate Representative qualification and go on to work in Bairnsdale, Victoria as a Real Estate Sales Representative. To further his real estate knowledge and qualifications Richard then completed the required course to become a Licensed Real Estate Agent.

Richard has an excellent knowledge of the local real estate market and keeps up to date with real estate trends across Australia. His friendly personality, professionalism, strong work ethic and experience means he can market your property to achieve the best possible sales outcome.

Whilst not working Richard enjoys spending time with his family, camping, fishing and tending to his farm located at Sarsfield.

I decided to use Richard Ivey as the selling agent for a property (a bush block) that I owned in Bruthen, he had been involved in the sale of two other very similar properties in the surrounding area. I felt due to this that he would have a strong understanding of the potential interest that a property like mine could generate. After a friendly and professional conversation via the phone, he gave me a clear and concise overview of how the real estate market was preforming locally and that there was certainly interest and people wanting to buy forested lifestyle blocks. This however was not your average block of land, it was certainly going to be a bit more channelling. From there it was clear, he was the 'man for the job'. Over the course of the sale period (around 100 days) I got regular calls and weekly updates, he was very easy to work with, I got clear and valuable advise as to how to present the property, suggestions as to any extra paperwork ( there was a conservation covenant over the property and access was difficult ) to provide and a continued positive attitude re-enforcing that we just had to wait for the right buyer. All of this helped to ease my mind, knowing that I had an experienced and highly professional person working in my best interests. Richard went the extra mile in the sale of 385 Dead Cow Track, it was always going to be difficult property to sell, he certainly earned my respect and admiration, not to mention reduced my anxiety. It is due to this that I would highly recommend him to anyone, I feel that I made the right choice in choosing him to help me. The right man for the job! I have since asked Richard for advise and guidance on the purchase of another property, this was something that I have done due to his understanding of the real estate market, that I trust his knowledge base and that we communicate well with each other.
